DOER Marine

In high school, I interned at DOER Marine where I performed a large varitety of different tasks primarily focused on manufacturing as well as R&D on an underwater camera system.

I worked on assembling, testing, and troubleshooting FastBack Networks IBR 1300 Series Radios in a production environment. I also worked on other electronics manufacturing projects including splicing cables for underwater use, building control boxes for scientific instruments, and performing microsoldering repairs on damaged PCB’s.

The largest project that I worked on was updating the camera system for a sediment imaging system. I created the updated camera system by repurposing commercially available electronics intended for other sectors. I also wrote documentation to allow the end user to set up and use the software.

I was trained to use the waterjet, 3d printers, and laser cutter. I created protocols for using the 3d printers and laser cutters to allow others to routinely create high quality parts.
